A group of experts from Singapore, China and Myanmar, led by the Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to the Lao PDR Dominic Goh, are working with Lao experts from relevant sectors of Laos to collect information concerning the construction of a new international airport at the Seno zone in Outhoumphone district of Savannakhet Province. A meeting to discuss the collection of information on the construction of the new airport was held on 3 November at the Provincial Administration Office between the group of Oversea and Lao experts, and provincial authorities. The discussion was organized in the presence of the Director of the Management Committee of Savan-Seno Special Economic Zone Thongsay Xayavongkhamdy, and representatives from the Provincial Division of Public Works and Transportation. During the meeting, the experts and representatives discussed the construction plan of the new airport and related areas. According to the government’s plan, the new airport is being built to help facilitate the transportation of goods which will be made in factories in the Savan-Seno
